Who are we?

Denmark's center for manure equipment is in Viborg

Now don't redo a whole lot!

It is okay to change the structure at Samson - but not the machines, according to the machine station owner

"As long as they don't start changing the machines too much, it's okay that the structure has changed with the creation of Samson Agrolize. After all, it's a balance between making things functional and at the same time a bit fancy. The basic machines run very well. So the challenges must lie with the development work".

So says Poul Erik Clausen, owner of No. Vium Maskinstation a little south of Videbæk in West Jutland. He currently has three light green manure wagons and a manure spreader running from the factory in Viborg. Newest in the machine house is a new Samson PGII 31 manure wagon, which has replaced a PGII 27.

“We had problems with the weight distribution on the 27. They are solved with the PGII 31 carriage, which puts more weight on the tractor and is thus much easier to drive. It now appears that Samson has solved the weight problem in the upcoming PG 27 model, which we have had the opportunity to test. It runs really well, and when it goes into production, there will also be one of the new ones for No. Vium", declares Poul Erik Clausen.

On No. Vium Maskinstation keeps a manure wagon for a maximum of three years. It is then replaced with a new one.

Many cubic meters

"We drive a lot of cubic meters through our wagons. Over three years in the region of 300,000 cubic metres. We have three wagons, and one is changed on a regular basis every year. Not because they can't do more. But we sell them on while the resale price is still at the top. We have customers who have bought some of our discontinued Samson machines, which after several years are still running impressively well", says Poul Erik Clausen.

It is a conscious strategy to frequently replace the machinery in Nr. Vium.

"We do it with all machines. I believe that it is better to write off than to maintain. That is why we continuously replace all machinery", explains Poul Erik Clausen.

"I find that Samson has generally been very good at adapting to the market. This is of course one of the main reasons why we have so much Samson stuff. In the past we have also had other brands in, but it works well with Samson. Samson Agrolize comes up with some sensible solutions, and we practically never have breakdowns on the machines. So for us there really isn't much else but Samson", says the machine station owner.

Start from scratch

Poul Erik Clausen started No. Vium Machine Station from scratch in 2003. He previously worked at a machine station in the area that closed. After that, he bet that a new one would probably be needed. And laid the foundation for No. Vium Machine Station.

Today, it is mainly about agricultural work for the machine station's machines and half a dozen permanent employees, who are supplemented by additional personnel during the season.

"We operate in quite a large area from Herning in the east to Ringkøbing in the west, Aulum in the north and Skjern to the south. Everything within agricultural work is on the menu, and the vast majority are tasks for cattle farming. Close to half are maintenance agreements, where we do everything to do with farming for the farmer. In total, we have maintenance agreements for around 1,500 hectares, and there will be more and more", says Poul Erik Clausen.
